KOBE TOWER
Kobe, Japan

Kobe was the first city and port in Japan to open to the Western world, in the late 18th century. As a result, you find a vibrant mix of venerable Japanese traditions intersecting with American jazz, and ancient temples juxtaposed with striking contemporary architecture. The design of this projects reflects this fortuitous mix, blending the cosmopolitanism of its setting and culture with lush gardens, gracious modern architecture and luxurious interior design.

Decidedly urban in setting (the buildings sit on an enviable site between the Rokko Mountains and Osaka Bay) the project is an oasis in the city, designed around lush gardens that embrace the change of season. The 35-story tower is pulled to the northwest corner of the site, enabling sun filled spaces throughout, and capturing the city, mountain, and water views.
